It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I welcome you as the 41st President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. Serving in this role for the 2024–2026 term is an incredible honor, and I sincerely thank you for your continued trust, support, and engagement.
Our new Board of Directors brings together a dynamic combination of fresh perspectives and experienced leaders. Each board member shares a strong commitment to strengthening our chapter, supporting our members, and advancing the mission of Phila‑ALA.
Since our founding in 1975 by a small group of dedicated Legal Administrators seeking community, knowledge-sharing, and professional support, the Philadelphia Chapter has grown into one of the most active and accomplished chapters in the country. Today, we proudly represent approximately 200 members across firms and in-house departments of all sizes throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. We are equally fortunate to partner with more than 30 Business Partners who provide exceptional industry insight and keep us informed of emerging trends.
Our chapter’s accomplishments speak to the passion and dedication of our community. For the past five consecutive years, we have proudly earned the National Presidents’ Award of Excellence, a testament to our strong programming, leadership, and commitment to excellence. In recognition of our meaningful volunteer work— including toy drives with The Salvation Army of Philadelphia, holiday support for The Bethesda Project, and charitable contributions to the Foundation of ALA—our chapter also received an official citation from the City of Philadelphia honoring our community impact. These achievements reflect who we are: service‑driven, engaged, and dedicated to making a positive difference.
As the legal industry continues to evolve—particularly following the dramatic shifts brought on by the pandemic—Phila‑ALA remains steadfast in providing the tools, education, and resources necessary for legal management professionals to thrive. We are committed to staying forward‑thinking, adaptable, and responsive to the challenges and opportunities shaping our field.
Our committees will be instrumental in driving this work forward:
Education Committee: Delivering relevant, high‑quality programming that empowers members to grow, adapt, and excel in today’s legal environment.
Communications Committee: Strengthening transparency and connection through clear, timely, and engaging communication.
Business Partner Committee: Enhancing strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our valued business partners.
Membership Committee: Expanding our chapter’s reach while welcoming diverse experiences and perspectives.
Diversity Committee: Advancing meaningful efforts in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across our chapter and the broader legal community.
In addition to the resources available through National ALA, our chapter is fortunate to have an engaged network of business partners ready to share their expertise and support. Please visit the Business Partners Page and Business Partners Corner on our website to learn more about their offerings.
The coming year holds exciting opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. We will continue to offer monthly educational sessions, roundtables, and accessible programming, along with social and networking events that help us stay connected and build lasting professional relationships.
It is well‑proven that the members who engage most actively with their local chapter gain the greatest value from their membership—and have the most fun doing so. If you are interested in joining a committee, volunteering, or finding new ways to get involved, please reach out to any Board member or to me directly. And remember to check our website and calendar regularly, and share your news with us so we can celebrate it on our website and LinkedIn.
As we begin this new chapter together, let us remain committed to excellence, innovation, and community. Let us continue inspiring one another, challenging the status quo, and fostering a welcoming environment where every member feels valued and supported.
Thank you once again for the privilege of serving as your President. I am truly excited for what lies ahead.
