A Message From Our President

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as your Chapter President for the next two years.  I am looking forward to working alongside an amazingly strong and dedicated board of directors as we continue to serve this extraordinary Chapter.

The Philadelphia Chapter was founded in 1975 and is comprised of small, mid-size, and large firms as well as in-house legal departments.  Our Chapter is dedicated to leveraging the experience and skills of our members by providing current industry-focused learning opportunities while offering many resources available to us in reaching our professional goals.

Our vast accomplishments over the past few years have elevated the Philadelphia Chapter to where we are today.  The creation and development of our YouTube channel not only provided our members the opportunity to showcase their professional expertise and share their knowledge with other Chapter members, but also won the 2017 ALA National Idea Award.  As you may know, our Chapter won the Presidents’ Award of Excellence in both 2017 and 2018.  We will continue to strive to achieve this prestigious award by taking on several new initiatives.

This year, our board of directors will work together with:

  • The Membership Committee to build and strengthen our current Ambassador Program for new Chapter members;
  • The Education Committee to continue to provide high-level educational sessions that are informative, thought-provoking and diverse with an added focus on peer-to-peer small and large roundtable discussions dealing with the day-to-day operations and management of a law firm;
  • The Business Partner Committee to continue providing fun and exciting events; and
  • The Diversity Committee to continue to promote diversity within the Chapter.

I ask that when you are in the market for a new service or product, please do not forget about our current business partners.  Their knowledge and expertise can be valuable assets and resources to you and your firm.  Without support from our business partners, we would not be able to bring you our amazing and creative events and education sessions throughout the year.

Please remember our website is a valuable tool that you should utilize to learn more about how our Chapter can assist you, our business partners and where you can see and register for our events.

We are always looking for new members and volunteers to assist the various committees, so don’t be bashful!  Please feel free to contact me or any board member if you have any questions or want to learn more about the opportunities to get involved in our Chapter.

-Maureen
